PRACTICE

Practice is a multi-channel video projection featuring artists appearing to walk towards the viewer yet never actually getting anywhere. Over time, each depicted artist slowly fades to black and is eventually replaced by another artist in a process that goes on indefinitely. The work disconnects participants from their artistic work in a bid to highlight certain aspects of artistic practice and explore themes of perseverance and visibility that are familiar to many artists. Continually displayed in the windows of the Good Grief gallery at night, the projection stages artists who look squarely at the viewer while members of the public pass them by.
